04 is a three tiered side table about “exploration and perception”. in context of our mind, what do we acknowledge in the foreground? do we see what lies in the background? what about that delicate purgatorial space between?
from all percepts, 04 takes on a different form - it isn’t until looking at it from all angles that you are able to understand it as an honest multi-dimensional utilitarian object offering more to the mind than meets the eye (upon first glance). this table is a metaphor for the notion that the act of exploring is dependent on having an “open mind”; one cannot exist without the other. if right now you are challenging that statement by trying to think of any/all possibilities wherein one may be able to explore without looking outside of the limitations of the foreground, then you’re already on the right path - you have already met minds with the object; you are exploring possibility by way of challenging a delivered perception; the possibility itself, the "angles” of the challenge, is that delicate space between.
